Students in grades 3-8 will be administered the PARCC(Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College an Careers) PBA (Performance-Based Assessment) beginning Monday, March 9.The window of testing will occur March 9 through March 20, 2015.

Students in grades 3-8 will be tested in ELA (English Language Arts) and Math. Please avoidscheduling appointments during the testing window of March 11 through 20 and/or check your child’s homeroom teacher’s webpage to view the exact days and times of each test.

You can help your child do his or her best on the upcoming tests by:

Making sure your child attends school on the days of testing;

Making sure your child arrives to school on time;

Making sure your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before testing;

Providing breakfast on the mornings of testing;

Reminding your child to ask the teacher questions if he or she does not understand the test directions;

Letting your child know that you have confidence in his or her ability to do his or her best; and

Advising your child not to worry about the test-just do the best he or she can.

Please contact your child’s teacher if you want additional information or have further questions about these tests.Don’t forget about the wonderful PARCC pancake breakfast that our teachers prepare which will occur on Tuesday, March 10 starting at 7:20am in the cafeteria.Thank you again for your support!
