Parent-Teacher Conferences are an opportunity for guardians and teachers to work as a team to discuss each child's educational growth, discuss behaviors, and create goals for student growth. Conference periods are 15 minutes each with the student's classroom teacher(s) and any other support staff. If parents wish to schedule an appointment with a teacher other than the homeroom teacher/academic team, please request when completing the digital sign up form.
If you feel your child is successful and you do not need a conference, Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be optional. If your child's teacher would like to meet, they will reach out to you to ask for you to schedule a time.
To make scheduling easier on parent schedules, scheduling sign ups for Parent Teacher Conferences will be online via the following link. Please visit the PTC Website: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Signal_Hill_School_District_181 and select each teacher you are requesting a conference with to be connected to their form.
Families with multiple students will need to sign up for each child's conference separately. If you prefer to have additional staff member(s) present at your child's conference, you will have an opportunity to indicate this on the sign up form (such as Nurse, Art, PE, LEAPS/JUMPS, Music, Library, Speech, TAG, Guidance Counselor, and/or Social Worker). We will do our best to honor these requests. Every effort will be made to stay within the 15 minute time allotment set aside for each parent, so your promptness would be appreciated. Students may attend conferences, but child care will also be available during a scheduled conference time if needed. Please sign up for an appointment by March 17th.
Conferences will be held in person, unless a virtual conference is requested by the parent. Requests should be made via email to your child's teacher.
Spring 2024 Conference Dates and Times

Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to have your student’s teeth visually inspected by a licensed dentist, cleaned, fluoride, and sealants applied as needed. Students in kindergarten, second, and sixth grades are required to have dental exams completed by May 15, 2024. Students entering these same grades in the fall will also be required to show proof of a dental exam. Exams done on April 25th will meet the state requirements for this school year and next school year. If your student will be a Freshman in the fall, they will be required to have a dental exam completed. In addition, many students are missing dental examinations in their health file. This is an easy way to get those dental requirements met. This process is very simple and done right here at school.

Starting March 5th - March 15th, students are encouraged to bring in spare change for their grade level collection. Each penny in your bucket is plus 1 point. All silver coins are minus points (minus 5 for nickels, minus 10 for dimes, minus 25 for quarters), so you want to put those in other grades buckets. At the end of the day on March 15th, the grade with the most points will win a party of their choice, either pizza, doughnuts, or ice cream.
Buckets (water jugs) will be outside Mr. Selliers' room! Stay tuned for updates!
All money raised will go towards the fundraising efforts of the 3 Warriors shaving their heads bald for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an organization that raises money for childhood cancer research.
