Dear Signal Hill School #181 Staff and Families,
 I am honored to be in my fifth year serving as the  Signal Hill #181 Superintendent. I previously served  seven years as the building principal at Lewis and Clark Elementary, in Wood River-Hartford District #15.  I also taught second grade for ten years in Edwardsville School District #7.

 My wife Kim and I have two daughters. Karissa is a sophomore and Kinley is in seventh grade.  When I am away from school, you will likely find us traveling to various activities with the girls, and spending quality time with family and friends.

 I look forward to working with each and every one of you to make Signal Hill #181 the very best it can be. My goal is to help our students to succeed, and bring a level of consistency to the district, while increasing our family engagement.  Working together, I know that we will be successful!

It is with great honor that I introduce myself as the principal of Signal Hill School.  I am very excited to work for a school district grounded in educational excellence, paired with a rich tradition of a strong community.  I can assure you that I share in the school’s and community’s commitment to the students and will strive to ensure students receive the best possible education.

 I come to you with over 16 years of experience in education. My early education career began as a speech-language pathologist and I have spent the last  11 years as an administrator.  I have held the positions of assistant principal, principal, assistant director of curriculum, and my most recent position of curriculum director.  My various experiences in education have afforded me the opportunity to work with all grade levels and understand the needs of both the students and the staff at the respective grade levels. These experiences have helped shape me into the professional and educator I am today. 

My husband and I have two daughters, Kendall and Kylie. I am also the bonus parent of two young adults. As a parent of school age children and an educator, I understand the importance of a strong positive partnership between home and school.

I am excited to return to Signal Hill School! I look forward to seeing all of our returning students as well as meeting all of new students and families.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Let’s work together to make this a  wonderful school year at SHS!
