GRAD

Dear Parents/Guardians/Graduates:

Graduation is just around the corner, and we will begin preparing next week after the play has been completed. Please be aware of the following information for our students to be ready for the big day!

Graduation is on Thursday, May  22. The students MUST BE ON TIME AND PRESENT on this day. We will do one last practice for the ceremony, have a parade so that our Graduates can walk the halls of SHS one last time and say goodbye to the younger Warriors, and they will receive their caps and gowns. The caps and gowns will need to be taken home and hung up and/or lightly pressed to be ready for that evening. Please note-we do not have extra caps, gowns, or tassels if they are damaged or lost. Pay particular attention to the tassels. They are easily dropped and misplaced!

Students will be dismissed from school that morning approximately 9:45am on Thursday, May 22.

They will then need to be back at school in the community center by 6PM. We will be meeting early to take pictures, check caps and gowns, and get in line to walk down to the Big Gym. Students must be on time. If students are late, they will miss the class pictures with our photographer.

Students should be wearing nice clothes and shoes under their gowns. No flip flops please. Also know that the caps sit flat on their heads. Consider this when choosing a hairstyle. Girls should be aware if they are putting their hair up, the cap will not fit if hair is arranged on the top of the head.

During the ceremony please remember that all families would like to see and hear the name of their graduate. Balloon arrangements will not be allowed at the ceremony due to our limited space.

After the ceremony, graduates will line up outside (or in the hallway in case of bad weather) to greet all of those who are attending. Please follow the line out of the gym to congratulate the new graduates. Then please join us afterwards for a reception in the cafeteria.
