keckCongratulations to the Signal Hill School recipient of the Emerson Award for Excellence in Teaching, Mrs. Jaime Keck, Jr. High Math Teacher.

Mrs. Keck sets high standards for her students and works tirelessly to help them reach their full potential. She holds her students accountable in a supportive and respectful manner, always striving to bring out their best. Her calm and patient demeanor creates a safe and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks and challenging themselves.

Mrs. Keck takes on various leadership roles in our school community.  As a key member of our math curriculum team, Jaime plays an integral role in shaping and advancing our instructional
goals. She is committed to pushing rigorous curriculum materials and ensuring that lessons are aligned with grade-level standards and best practices. She not only works to enhance the junior high curriculum but also collaborates with other grade levels to facilitate vertical alignment of standards.  Mrs. Keck is also the teacher leader for our Math Club.  In this role, she challenges students on her team with various puzzles, games, and activities, all while having fun in the math area.  These students also have the opportunity to compete at another school based on our school calendar.  Mrs. Keck’s thoughtful approach to instruction and her attention to detail have had a positive impact on both student
achievement and curriculum development.


In every aspect of her role, Jaime exemplifies professionalism, dedication, and a genuine passion for teaching. She is a valued member of our staff, and her contributions extend beyond her classroom. In today’s society, with the pressures of the teaching profession, having an employee like Jaime, who has a true dedication to not just math but also to students, is a remarkable trait. She can be seen, at sporting events cheering on the students, or at a school dance, making sure they have fun. She is a builds up every part of the students, which makes her a perfect candidate for this award.
